Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation Announces Marohn as Chair of IICF Board of Governors
The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) has appointed Steve Marohn, who serves as president of commercial lines at Grange Insurance, as the new chair of its board of governors. Joining him in this leadership role is Adam McDonough, executive vice president of Lockton Insurance Brokers, who will serve as the first vice chair.
Marohn’s journey with the IICF spans over two decades, showcasing his commitment and leadership within the organization. He has previously held the position of Board chair for the IICF Western Division and has contributed to various committees, including those for IICF’s 30th anniversary and board of governors compensation.
McDonough, who has also been a member of the IICF Board of Governors for 20 years, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He has previously served as chair of the IICF Western Division and has chaired every committee within this division during his tenure.
Marohn and McDonough take over from Wendy Houser, President of US Wholesale and Specialty at Markel, who has held the position of IICF Board of Governors Chair since January 2024.
AXA XL promotes Matthew Stitham to Chief Underwriting Officer, Casualty in the Americas
AXA XL, based in New York City, has announced the promotion of Matthew Stitham to chief underwriting officer for casualty in the Americas.
In his new role, Stitham will take on regional underwriting management responsibilities that were previously held by Donnacha Smyth, who transitioned to global chief underwriting officer for casualty in November. Stitham has an extensive background, having served as head of west excess and head of excess casualty. He joined AXA XL in 2007 after beginning his underwriting career at Zurich and Travelers.
