Cellular provider Verizon is offering a billing credit to customers impacted by a network disruption that occurred on Wednesday. This outage left many users across the country unable to access voice and data services.
In a social media post on X, Verizon acknowledged the issue, stating, “Yesterday, we did not meet the standard of excellence you expect and that we expect of ourselves.”
To provide some relief, the company announced a $20 account credit for affected customers. This credit can be easily redeemed by logging into the myVerizon app. “You will receive a text message when the credit is available. On average, this covers multiple days of service. Business customers will be contacted directly about their credits,” Verizon explained.

The company emphasized that the credit is not intended to fully compensate for the inconvenience caused. “No credit really can. But it’s a way of acknowledging your time and showing that this matters to us,” Verizon stated.
According to outage tracking website Downdetector, there were over 100,000 outage reports on Wednesday afternoon. However, the actual number of affected users may vary, as Downdetector relies on user-submitted reports.
Verizon confirmed that the outage was resolved by Wednesday night, with Downdetector reporting a significant drop in outage reports overnight. While most issues appeared to be resolved, some residual reports continued into Thursday.

This is the fastest way to reconnect your phone to the network.” The company expressed its commitment to improving service, stating, “We are sorry for what you experienced and will continue to work hard day and night to provide the outstanding network and service that you expect from Verizon.”
