Michelle Licht Appointed Vice President of Business Development at Sinistar to Drive U.S. Market Expansion

New York, NYJanuary 27, 2026 — Sinistar, an innovative, AI-driven temporary housing platform tailored for insurance claims, has announced the appointment of Michelle Licht as Vice President of Business Development – USA, effective January 19, 2026.

With over 20 years of senior experience in temporary housing and catastrophe response, Michelle Licht has established herself as a key player in the industry. Her extensive background includes collaboration with insurance carriers, claims executives, and service partners across the United States. She is renowned for her profound understanding of the insurance housing ecosystem and her ability to cultivate trusted, long-term relationships with carriers during both routine claims and large-scale catastrophic events.

Most recently, Michelle served as Vice President of Sales at the largest provider of temporary housing services in the US insurance market. In this role, she spearheaded national sales initiatives and assisted insurers in navigating complex displacement scenarios. Joining the organization in 2006 as National Catastrophe and Sales Director, she played a pivotal role in major catastrophe responses, being present on-site for significant events such as Hurricane Sandy, the Moore, Oklahoma tornadoes, Hurricane Harvey, and the Paradise fires.

Michelle’s decision to join Sinistar aligns with a significant transformation occurring within the insurance industry. As carriers increasingly demand enhanced transparency, flexibility, and technology integration, traditional temporary housing models are becoming less compatible with modern claims operations. Sinistar’s platform is specifically designed to meet these evolving needs, leveraging technology, data science, and a contemporary housing solutions network to deliver superior outcomes for insurers, adjusters, and displaced families.

In her new position, Michelle will concentrate on expanding Sinistar’s partnerships with US carriers, driving new business development, and supporting insurers as they transition to a more responsive, technology-driven approach to temporary housing.

“Insurers are clearly asking for something different from what has existed in the market for decades,” stated Alexis Vertefeuille, Founder and CEO of Sinistar. “Michelle deeply understands those challenges firsthand and shares our belief that technology and innovation are fundamental to disrupting how temporary housing services are delivered. Her leadership will be instrumental as we scale across the United States.”

Michelle Licht expressed her enthusiasm, stating:

“Sinistar represents where I believe the insurance housing market is headed. What the team has built is truly aligned with how insurers are evolving. Their focus on innovation, AI, transparency, paired with better outcomes for both the carriers and policyholders is exactly what the market is asking for, and I’m excited to help drive that change.”
