Cedarhurst to Add Independent Living Cottages in Illinois

Cedarhurst Senior Living is set to expand its Cedarhurst of Springfield location with the addition of 56 independent living cottages. This exciting development is expected to open its doors in Spring 2027.

The new cottages will feature two-bedroom layouts equipped with walk-in closets, full-size kitchen appliances, in-home washers and dryers, private garages with electric vehicle charging outlets, covered patios, and cozy gas fireplaces.

Residents will enjoy a variety of amenities, including a clubhouse with dining options, a dog park, a putting green, and a gym. Additionally, they will have access to activity programs, therapy services, and transportation options available at Cedarhurst of Springfield’s assisted living and memory care community.

Friendship Village Tempe Advances with Five-Story Independent Living Building

In Tempe, Arizona, construction is progressing on phase three of the expansive 50-acre Friendship Village Tempe campus. This phase involves the removal of an existing structure to make way for a new five-story building, covering 175,900 square feet, with substantial completion anticipated by the end of 2027.

This new phase will introduce 69 independent living apartments, two guest suites, and below-grade parking. The residences will offer one- and two-bedroom layouts ranging from 909 to 2,396 square feet, including a luxurious penthouse option.

Amenities will feature a reimagined restaurant and lounge with duckpin bowling on the fifth floor, a spa and clinic space, club rooms, and a group exercise area. Residents will also have access to earlier phases, which include rooftop pickleball courts and a full-service rooftop restaurant and microbrewery.

Recently, leaders from Bonaventure Senior Living celebrated the opening of Bonaventure of Milwaukie, a new senior living community located in Milwaukie, Oregon. This community will offer a range of services, including independent living, assisted living, and memory care, with various floor plans available, such as studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom options featuring kitchenettes, heating and air conditioning controls, and emergency call systems.

Residents can look forward to resort-style amenities, including chef-prepared meals, a golf simulator, a fitness center, a library, a barbershop, game rooms, courtyards, and walking paths.

Jenner’s Pond Unveils Renovated Mundell Health Center in Pennsylvania

In Chester County, Pennsylvania, the continuing care retirement community Jenner’s Pond, part of the Simpson Senior Services system, has recently opened a newly renovated health center. The Pastor Jim and Betty Mundell Health Center has been remodeled to enhance skilled nursing and memory care services, adopting a “person-directed, household model.”

Designed by Lenhardt Rogers Architecture and constructed by David Funk & Sons, the project creates four distinct households, each featuring its own kitchen, dining and living rooms, activity spaces, and outdoor areas.

New enhancements for the memory care expansion include a therapy gym offering physical, occupational, and speech therapies, as well as a sensory garden.
