Aon Names Peiser as CEO of Risk Capital; Liberty Mutual Reveals Leadership Change in Global Risk Solutions

Aon has recently announced the appointment of Joe Peiser as the new CEO of Risk Capital. This strategic move is expected to enhance Aon’s capabilities in delivering comprehensive risk management solutions to its clients.

Joe Peiser

Joe Peiser joined Aon in 2021 as the commercial risk leader for North America. His impressive trajectory continued when he was appointed Global CEO of Commercial Risk in 2023. In his new role at Risk Capital, Peiser will collaborate closely with solution line and regional leaders, as well as Aon Business Services. His focus will be on accelerating the delivery of end-to-end solutions, ensuring that clients benefit from a more interconnected and analytics-enabled capital ecosystem.

In this capacity, Peiser will oversee Aon’s Risk Capital capabilities across both Commercial Risk and Reinsurance Solutions. He will continue to report to Andy Marcell, CEO of Global Solutions for Aon, while a search for the new CEO of Commercial Risk is currently underway.

With over 30 years of industry experience, Peiser has held various leadership roles in broking, risk consulting, and client advisory across North America, the UK, and Bermuda. He has successfully led large-scale transformation programs, modernizing broking platforms and enhancing analytics-enabled solutions for clients.

Liberty Mutual Announces Leadership Transition in Global Risk Solutions

Matthew Moore

Liberty Mutual Insurance, based in Boston, Massachusetts, has appointed Matthew Moore as the new president of underwriting for Global Risk Solutions (GRS), effective March 6. This transition comes as Neeti Bhalla Johnson, the current president of GRS, concludes her role to pursue new opportunities.

Moore brings over 24 years of experience with Liberty Mutual, having held various executive positions in Global Specialty and Reinsurance. For the past four years, he has served as the President of Underwriting at GRS. His previous roles include chair of the London Market Group (LMG) and board member of the Lloyd’s Members Association.

During her tenure, Bhalla Johnson successfully led a turnaround of the company’s commercial and specialty (re)insurance business across 24 countries, generating $23 billion in gross written premium. Under her leadership, GRS significantly improved its combined ratio performance and established a clear strategic vision through 2030. Prior to her role as president, she served as Liberty Mutual’s chief investment officer.

To ensure a smooth transition, Bhalla Johnson will continue to support the company in an advisory role until June 2026.
