According to the FDA, healthy individuals infected with listeria may experience short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Pregnant women are particularly at risk, as listeria infections can lead to miscarriages and stillbirths.
The agency has urged anyone experiencing symptoms of listeria to seek medical attention. Fortunately, no illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall thus far.
