Traders on the prediction market platform Kalshi have placed the odds of President Donald Trump selecting Kevin Warsh to succeed Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell at 42%, marking a significant 27 percentage point increase this week.
Meanwhile, Kevin Hassett remains the frontrunner to lead the world’s most powerful central bank, holding a 50% chance despite experiencing a 20-point drop in his odds. The total trading volume on this market has surpassed $10.2 million.

During a recent statement, Trump identified his two leading candidates for the Fed chair position as former Fed Governor Kevin Warsh and National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett. “Yes, I think he is. I think you have Kevin and Kevin. They’re both – I think the two Kevins are great,” Trump remarked, adding that there are “a couple of other people that are great” as well.

Hassett, who has been a staunch supporter of Trump’s economic agenda, currently serves as the director of the White House’s National Economic Council. He has held two roles during the first Trump administration and provided economic policy advice during the 2024 presidential campaign.

Warsh, who has extensive economic credentials, joined the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in 2006 and was the youngest person to serve on the board at that time. He was previously a Morgan Stanley banker and was among Trump’s leading candidates to replace Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen in 2017, although Trump ultimately appointed Powell.
