Christine Brown’s journey with the captive insurance division began in 2003 when she joined as an examiner. Over the years, she has received numerous promotions, showcasing her dedication and expertise in the field. In 2022, she reached a significant milestone by becoming the division director, further solidifying her role as a key player in the department.
In addition to her responsibilities at the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation, Brown has been actively involved in national insurance matters. Since 2018, she has served as the principal staff to the chair of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Risk Retention Group Task Force. This role has allowed her to contribute to important discussions and initiatives that shape the insurance landscape across the country.
Before her tenure in state government, Brown gained valuable experience as an auditor at prestigious firms such as Ernst & Young and Johnson Lambert. This background has equipped her with a strong foundation in financial regulation and compliance, essential skills for her current position.
