Crawford & Company Announces New Operating Divisions, Appoints Hoberman CEO of US Operations
Crawford & Company, based in Atlanta, has unveiled a new global operating structure that will take effect on January 1. The company will now function under two primary divisions: U.S. Operations and International Operations.
In line with this new structure, Mike Hoberman has been elevated to the role of CEO of U.S. Operations, reporting directly to interim Crawford President and CEO Bruce Swain. Hoberman will be responsible for overseeing all U.S. business activities. Concurrently, Canada will transition into the international operations division, which will be led by Andrew Bart, the CEO of International Operations.
Furthermore, Pat Van Bakel has been appointed as the Chief Commercial & Strategy Officer, also reporting to Swain. In this global capacity, Van Bakel will spearhead the formulation and execution of the company’s strategic initiatives.
Several leaders have been promoted within Crawford’s U.S. businesses, all reporting to Hoberman:
- Paul Kottler — President, U.S. Loss Adjusting. Kottler will oversee U.S. Field Operations, U.S. Global Technical Services, and edjuster U.S.
- Lance Malcolm — President, U.S. Network Solutions. Malcolm will manage U.S. Contractor Connection and Catastrophe Services.
- Jeffrey Sickles — President, Crawford TPA: Broadspire. Sickles will lead all Broadspire business operations across the U.S.
Converge Appoints Howie Altman as Chief Technology Officer

Converge, located in New York City, has appointed Howie Altman as its Chief Technology Officer.
Altman brings a wealth of experience, having built and scaled technology platforms across various sectors, including insurance, financial services, and high-growth technology companies. In his new role, Altman will oversee the ongoing evolution of the company’s technology infrastructure. This includes advancements in AI-powered risk assessment, automated underwriting workflows, and sophisticated portfolio management tools.
