IICF Northeast Announces Gavlick of Jencap Group as Board Chair

The Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF), a nonprofit organization committed to enhancing communities through grants and volunteer service, has appointed Sarah Gavlick as the chair of the IICF Northeast Division board of directors. Gavlick serves as the executive vice president of Carrier Relations and Client Distribution at Jencap Group.

With an impressive 30 years of experience in underwriting, marketing, and distribution, Gavlick has a rich history in the insurance sector. She spent 19 years at Markel, where she held several leadership positions, including regional president of the wholesale division for the Northeast, chief territory officer for the East, and most recently, chief retail officer on a national scale.

Gavlick’s transition from a long-serving member of the IICF Northeast Board to its chair is a testament to her dedication and leadership. She has previously held significant roles on the Northeast Executive Committee, including vice chair, and has been actively involved in various committees, including those for membership and the annual benefit dinner.

Lawley Grows Employee Benefits Division

Lawley, based in Buffalo, New York, is expanding its employee benefits and business insurance divisions. The company has welcomed Kirsten Bergstrom as an employee benefits sales consultant in North Haven, Connecticut, while promoting James Marotta to employee benefits sales consultant in Buffalo and William Lawley III to insurance advisor within the business insurance division.

Bergstrom brings 25 years of industry experience to Lawley, where she will focus on driving new business growth and providing tailored insurance solutions. In her new role, she will be responsible for developing and executing business plans, analyzing plan performance, and identifying cross-sell opportunities.

Marotta specializes in rate and renewal analysis, employee benefits, group health insurance, and benefits technology. His previous roles at Lawley as an employee benefits analyst and temporary sales support professional have equipped him with hands-on experience throughout the benefits lifecycle.

As an insurance advisor, Lawley evaluates the unique risks facing each client and crafts customized coverage plans that align with their specific goals. He has a background as a business development representative and personal insurance intern at Lawley, along with experience as an account executive and underwriting account representative.
