The agency behind a previous viral and controversial Super Bowl ad is back with a fresh spot, aiming to “invite all people one step closer to the authentic Jesus from wherever they are.” Come Near, the organization behind the “He Gets Us” campaign, will showcase this new advertisement during the highly anticipated game between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots.
Titled “Is there more to life than more?” and directed by filmmaker Salomon Ligthelm, the video encourages viewers to reconsider what Jesus teaches about societal pressures, doubt, and fulfillment. According to a release shared with FOX Business, the ad aims to resonate with the audience’s everyday struggles.

Simon Armour, Come Near’s chief creative officer, emphasizes a “neighbor-led” approach that inspired the themes of this project. “One of the things that kept coming up was this feeling of people just having a lot of noise in their life and being able to find peace [amongst] that noise, which is proving very difficult for them,” Armour explained to FOX Business.
After conducting extensive research, Come Near developed the “Loaded Words” campaign, focusing on culturally significant words that “have a promise to them,” according to Armour.

The advertisement features a series of quick shots: individuals scrolling through social media, a child surrounded by toys, students using virtual reality headsets in a classroom, and a plastic surgeon examining a man’s face. This fast-paced sequence culminates in a poignant final shot of a woman in the desert, gazing at the sky.
The on-screen text concludes with the thought-provoking message: “There’s more to life than more.”

Armour describes the ad as a commentary on the “absurdity” of pursuing materialistic goals like wealth, influence, and recognition. He hopes the video serves as a reflective mirror for viewers. “Really, that’s our hope in the spot is that [viewers] feel seen and heard, that it is a reflection of where they’re at and what they’re doing,” he stated. “Jesus never leaves us in the place that he finds us. He offers something more beyond that.”
The ad is set to air nationwide during the second half of the game, utilizing what Armour refers to as a “tent pole strategy.”

Armour notes that the Super Bowl represents a significant cultural moment where people gather, making it an ideal opportunity to invite viewers to consider Jesus’ perspective on their struggles. Reflecting on Come Near’s previous Super Bowl ad in 2024, which faced backlash from both sides of the political spectrum, Armour stated that this year’s approach aims to “turn that reflection inward.”

He added, “I think there’s been a natural evolution of the work. After four years, campaigns obviously just naturally evolve to stay fresh and still get people’s attention … We didn’t go to that place of being more personal again, because we thought it was a good idea; it was really based on what our neighbor is telling us.”
In addition to the national ad, Come Near will air two other ads in various regional markets, including Portland, Oregon, San Francisco, Denver, Wichita, Kansas, Kansas City, and Oklahoma City.
