Investigation Underway After Man Found Dead in Disney Springs Parking Garage, Orange County

In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, officials reported that a man was found dead at Disney World on Friday night. This event marks yet another somber chapter in a series of fatalities that have occurred at the resort in recent months.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) confirmed to FOX Business on Monday that the death is currently being investigated as a possible suicide. The incident took place in the Orange Garage of Disney Springs, a popular shopping and entertainment complex located within the expansive Florida theme park.

According to OCSO, “On January 2, 2026, at approximately 9:00 p.m., deputies responded to the Disney Springs Orange Garage on East Buena Vista Drive and discovered a man who was deceased. This incident is being investigated as a possible suicide.”

This latest incident follows a series of fatalities at Disney resorts, bringing the total number of deaths reported at Disney World since its opening in 1971 to approximately 70. Just last November, a body was discovered at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa in Lake Buena Vista, as reported by the New York Post.

Just days before the recent tragedy, a woman in her 40s was reported dead after being transported from Disney’s Pop Century Resort to a nearby hospital, according to OCSO. Additionally, reports indicate that three guests died within a two-week span in October.

In late October, the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed that a man in his 60s was found dead from an apparent suicide at the Contemporary Resort, a deluxe hotel situated near Magic Kingdom. The Post also reported that another man in his 60s suffered a medical emergency two days earlier at Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and later died in the hospital.

Prior to these incidents, a 31-year-old woman, known as a Disney superfan, was reportedly found dead from an apparent suicide at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
