Ken Griffin and Stephen Ross Champion South Florida’s CEO Business Initiative
Related Ross Executive Vice President Jordan Rathlev and health-tech firm Visium CEO John Rajchert speak to Fox News Digital about the influx of businesses and employees moving to West Palm Beach and how their companies are leading the charge.
In a bold move to attract more business leaders, Florida executives have launched a national campaign targeting CEOs, founders, and investors, promoting South Florida as a prime location for building and scaling companies. This initiative comes at a time when traditional business hubs are grappling with rising costs and increasing regulatory pressures.
On Tuesday, the Florida Council of 100, supported by Citadel founder Ken Griffin and Related Companies founder Stephen Ross, unveiled the “Ambition Accelerated” initiative. This campaign will utilize advertising and branding strategies to encourage decision-makers to either establish or relocate their businesses to South Florida, spanning from West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale to Miami.
Ken Griffin emphasized the importance of location in a press release, stating, “Where you choose to build a business determines how much time is spent driving growth versus navigating bureaucracy.” He highlighted that Miami and the broader South Florida Gold Coast provide deep talent, regulatory clarity, and an exceptional quality of life—factors that are essential for long-term success.

To kickstart the campaign, Griffin and Ross have collectively contributed $10 million. Both billionaires have roots in traditional blue-state cities but have increasingly championed Florida’s business-friendly environment in recent years.

Ross echoed Griffin’s sentiments, stating, “In previous generations, there were a limited number of American cities where companies could access opportunity and build at scale.” He believes that the next generation of companies will thrive along Florida’s Gold Coast, from West Palm Beach to Miami.
According to Ross, this region offers a competitive advantage with a robust operating environment, a thriving innovation ecosystem, and public leadership that collaborates effectively with the private sector. “This combination of factors helps companies based on Florida’s Gold Coast outperform competitors based elsewhere,” he added.
The Corcoran Group agent Julian Johnston exclusively speaks to Fox News Digital about the new wave of California billionaires migrating to South Florida due to a proposed wealth tax.
The campaign aims to engage business executives through national advertising and direct-comparison messaging in major hubs like New York, Chicago, California, and the greater Northeast. The Florida Council plans to pose thought-provoking questions in their ads, such as, “What if you could scale in the top metro for GDP growth?” or “What if your business could cut utility costs by 30%?”
Florida is renowned for its lack of a state income tax, but the Council also highlights that the state ranks as the second-lowest for business regulation per capita in the U.S. It consistently scores high for GDP growth, new business formations, talent attraction, and higher education systems.

Mike Simas, President and CEO of the Florida Council of 100, stated, “Every CEO is making the same set of decisions right now — where can we hire, where can we operate efficiently, and where can we scale with confidence.” He believes that Florida’s Gold Coast is uniquely positioned to answer these questions, making it an attractive destination for business leaders.
