NHTSA Investigates Engine Failure Concerns in Approximately 600,000 GM Vehicles

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced on Monday that it has initiated a recall query involving approximately 597,571 vehicles manufactured by General Motors due to concerns over engine failures.
This recall specifically targets GM vehicles equipped with the L87 6.2L V8 gas engine, which have reportedly suffered from engine damage or complete failure.
The NHTSA has received 36 Vehicle Owner Questionnaires (VOQs) that allege engine failures in vehicles that were previously recalled.
These complaints indicate that the remedies provided during the earlier recall may not have been effective, according to the NHTSA.
In April of last year, GM issued a recall for 721,000 vehicles globally due to engine-related issues, with nearly 600,000 of those vehicles located in the United States.
