Nvidia’s Jensen Huang Declares AI Expansion the Most Significant Infrastructure Development Ever

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has highlighted the rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI), describing it as the catalyst for what he calls the “largest infrastructure buildout in human history.” This monumental shift is driven by companies and governments investing trillions of dollars into the computing power necessary for real-time AI operations.

During an interview with FOX Business’ Maria Bartiromo at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Huang elaborated on the extensive buildout that encompasses data centers, chip manufacturing facilities, and “AI factories.” He emphasized that this transformation is still in its nascent stages.

“We are witnessing incredible demand. AI operates like a layer cake, starting from energy, then chips—the layer we are currently focused on—followed by infrastructure, cloud services, and the construction of data centers,” Huang explained.

He noted, “President [Donald] Trump aims to re-industrialize the United States, and this is the perfect moment to do so with AI.” Huang stressed the significance of this infrastructure boom, stating, “This is truly the largest infrastructure buildout in human history. It’s an opportune time for the U.S. to capitalize on this trend, as it will create numerous jobs for workers, plumbers, electricians, network technicians, construction workers, designers, and architects.”

Nvidia has solidified its position as a leading provider of AI hardware, becoming the first publicly traded company to achieve a $5 trillion market valuation, fueled by the global AI surge.

“If you consider the global ecosystem of industries, approximately $100 trillion is spent on R&D and operating expenses, with a significant portion expected to be enhanced by AI,” Huang stated. “Over the next 15 years, estimates suggest that this could reach $85 trillion, necessitating substantial infrastructure development.”

Despite the vast investments in AI expansion, Huang assured that Nvidia’s latest H200 chips are designed to be both efficient and cost-effective. “Every year, we are improving energy efficiency while reducing costs. This ensures that AI remains accessible and affordable for everyone,” he remarked.

Recently, the Trump administration approved Nvidia’s exports, allowing the company to ship its AI chips to China and other nations. Huang downplayed concerns regarding trade with China, asserting that their military does not rely on U.S. hardware.

“H200 chips are not utilized by their military because, like ours, they develop their own chips. Companies like Huawei and numerous startups have emerged this year, collectively valued in the hundreds of billions, focusing on AI chip production,” he explained.

“President Trump wants us to dominate the marketplace, compete globally, create jobs, and generate revenue for the United States,” Huang stated. “We must not concede any market.”
