An unnamed online user, known as “Burdensome-Mix,” made headlines after raking in nearly half a million dollars on the betting site Polymarket. This user accurately predicted that Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro would be ousted by the end of January. With over $32,000 in bets placed on Maduro’s capture, the user walked away with more than $400,000 following his arrest, as reported by NBC News.

The most significant bets were placed just before U.S. troops invaded Maduro’s compound. Interestingly, at least four other Polymarket accounts also wagered on Maduro’s ousting by the end of January, but their winnings were considerably smaller, ranging from $7,000 to $14,000.
