The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has issued a recall for nearly one ton of holiday kielbasa after a consumer discovered metal fragments in the product. This recall affects approximately 1,930 pounds of ready-to-eat sausage produced by Olympia Provisions, which may be “contaminated with foreign material, specifically metal,” according to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
On Monday, FSIS informed Fox News Digital that the metal pieces found were approximately 1.25 inches in length. The contamination issue was flagged after the Portland-based company alerted FSIS about the consumer complaint. Fortunately, no injuries related to the recalled products have been reported to date.
