Amwins Appoints Yuko and Shapiro to Lead New Hospitality Practice

Amwins, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, has announced the appointment of Michelle Yuko and Joey Shapiro as leaders of its newly established hospitality practice. This specialized group is designed to provide dedicated support to retail partners in the hospitality sector. While continuing to manage their existing portfolios, Yuko and Shapiro will take on the role of national practice leaders, steering key business initiatives and collaborating closely with Amwins’ corporate departments and hospitality specialists throughout the organization.

Michelle Yuko, who serves as executive vice president and property broker in Satellite Beach, Florida, brings nearly 20 years of industry experience to her new role. Having spent 14 years with Amwins, she has developed a profound understanding of hospitality property risks and market dynamics.
Joey Shapiro, also an executive vice president, is based in Chicago, Illinois. Since joining Amwins in 2018, he has concentrated on delivering tailored risk solutions specifically for clients in the hospitality sector.
Pinion Insurance Names Selvig US CUO

Pinion Insurance, a newly established technology-enabled specialty insurer located in Hamilton, Bermuda, has appointed Kyle Selvig as its U.S. chief underwriting officer. Based in Jacksonville, Florida, Selvig joins Pinion after nearly a decade at Fortegra, where he held the position of vice president of commercial underwriting. With 25 years of experience in the property and casualty (P&C) industry, he has also held underwriting leadership roles at Citizens Property Insurance for almost eight years.
In his new commercial role, Selvig will be responsible for building Pinion’s U.S. Managing General Agent (MGA) network. Subject to regulatory approval, the company anticipates binding its first U.S. business in the second quarter of 2026.
