Super Bowl Food Expenses Expected to Reach Approximately $140 This Year

The cost of throwing a Super Bowl party is likely to be more expensive this year.
According to Wells Fargo’s Super Bowl report, the cost to feed 10 people for the big game will be approximately $140, a slight increase from last year’s $138, marking a 1.6% rise. This report was led by chief agricultural economist Michael Swanson, along with Robin Wenzel and Courtney Schmidt from the Wells Fargo Agri-Food Institute. The data was sourced from Circana and the USDA.
Despite this increase, Wells Fargo economists pointed out that grocery prices rose by 2.4% in December, making the Super Bowl party costs relatively a good value.

While prices are on the rise, Wells Fargo reported that average hourly wages have also increased by 3.8%, now averaging $31.99.

Fresh Wings
Retail prices for fresh wings have decreased by 2.8% year-over-year, thanks to U.S. broiler producers increasing domestic production by 2.2% in 2025, aided by lower feed costs.
Shrimp
Shrimp prices have surged by 8.1%, now costing $9.10 per pound at retail. This increase is attributed to a fading global surplus and a return to normal levels of imports from various countries.

The price for salsa has risen by 1.7%, while onion-flavored dips have increased by 1.5%, largely due to rising labor costs. Food manufacturing wages, which constitute the largest share of food costs, have increased by about 4% year-over-year, according to USDA data.
