Trader Joe’s has secured the top position in the American Customer Satisfaction Index’s 2026 supermarket rankings.
According to the “Satisfaction Benchmarks by Company” list, Trader Joe’s achieved an impressive score of 86, surpassing second-place Publix, which scored 84. H-E-B followed closely in third with a score of 83.
It’s important to note that the “2026 results” are derived from data collected between January and December 2025.

The previous year’s rankings had both Trader Joe’s and Publix tied at 84, showcasing a competitive landscape among these popular grocery chains.
In stark contrast, Giant Eagle was noted as the lowest performer in the ACSI’s 2026 rankings, receiving a score of just 73. This marks a decline from its previous year’s score of 74.

Publix operates in just eight states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia, as detailed on the company’s website.
Notably, Florida, where Publix was founded, boasts more locations than all other seven states combined, highlighting its strong regional presence.
