Recall Issued for Mouthwash Bottles Due to Labeling Mistake

In a recent announcement, federal officials have warned that over 80,000 bottles of mouthwash are being recalled due to a labeling error. The affected product is the Parodontax Active Gum Health Mouthwash, which is distributed nationwide by Haleon US Holdings LLC.

The recall stems from concerns that the bottles may either lack the correct lot numbers or have incorrect expiration dates. According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the lot number for the affected bottles is 0665363, and the expiration date is set for August 31, 2027. However, the FDA has indicated that these details may not be visible on the 500 mL bottles.

In addition to this recall, it’s worth noting that thousands of cholesterol drug bottles have also been recalled nationwide due to manufacturing defects.

The FDA has classified the mouthwash recall as a Class III, which is the least severe classification. This classification indicates that the recalled product is not likely to cause adverse health consequences, although it still violates FDA regulations.

The FDA categorizes the risk levels of defective products, ranging from Class I, which indicates dangerous products, to Class III, which denotes minor violations. Specifically, a Class III recall means that the used product is not likely to cause adverse health consequences, even though it violates FDA regulations.

The recall is currently ongoing, and the FDA has not disclosed the specific locations where the mouthwash was sold.
